Unrecognisable and broken Socket 7 Motherboard

Postby ianh » Wed Jun 12, 2002 8:45 am

I would appreciate any help in identifying my motherboard.
Layout
4 PCI slots; 3 ISA slots; 2 DIMM slots; 4 SIMM slots;
Chips
Award PCI/PMP 586
MoSYS Mcache MC801 64K32Q-75
Intel PCiSet SB82437VX L7174824
Intel PCiSet SB82371SB L7090286
VIA-II VT82C42N
Houston Tech HT12888A (actually a VIA VT82887 with a turtle shell)

It is the last chip that is causing my problems. This holds a (flat) soldered CMOS battery and the chip legs that it is soldered to are now broken. I need a replacement chip (hopefully) or a replacement motherboard.

Any advice would be most appreciated as my children are off to college and I cant afford a new machine.

Houston Tech indicates this Board may be a Pcchips Mainboard or a clone from Houston Tech .
Identify your Board here :

These Realtimeclock Chips are out of production for some years now and it' will be hard to find a new one .
