That's it! Thanks, it is 2:30 AM here so I will look at the zip file later. I have now found my board does have the MS number in the same place, but it was completely obscured by a stretch of paper printed with a bar code and what could be a serial number. It never occurred to me that the board number might be underneath that.

Not a problem. The manual should help, pretty standard compared to retail variations of the board. The BIOS on the other hand for this board is not standard and nothing has ever been verified as far as ridding the BIOS of the limitations and such put in by HP.
