Postby somi » Thu Jan 08, 2015 10:25 pm

Hi friends
i m new to this forum.
Actully i wanted to buy a motherboard & thinking of buying Gigabyte.

But before that i go through the reviews from the different blogs
& what i read is just unbeliveable.

i never thought that company like gigabyte can compromise on product quality (part missing) for profit making.
I still dont belive this

guys below are the link where i found these threads ... rd.170746/ ... ost2184161 ... 1046761aff

friends tell me - this is true?
If it is true the i have to think again for another brand of motherboard.

I would not be concerned with "missing" parts. One basic motherboard model can be assembled for several end products with different features. Not uncommon to find missing chips or other components on lesser-grade models. Some models may not include a sound system, or secondary LAN system.. or even a device card slot. Yes, the solder pads are there though.
If the motherboard is suitable for your needs and purposes, then should be no problems.

I remembered those solder parts almost from the first mobo that I saw It depends on the features availables in the submodel, normally the last letter or letters in the model name, usually separated by a / in the models made for an OEM manufacturer or a - in the rest of the models

examples: AOpen MOBOS for 478 Socket:

all of them based on the same model AX4SG but different features

Well, this is an entirely different story. I am actually shocked to see a big name manufacturer like Gigabyte (or should I say -once a big name manufacturer? - based on this mishap) cut corners like there is no tomorrow. The only thing changing here is the revision number of the same model board so 1.1 -> 2.0 and 2.0 -> 3.0 yet there are substantial differences between these boards. If you read this article it is clear Gigabyte is trying to pull tricks on us, UNLESS they seriously lowered the price on the new revisions of these boards: ... st-results is a review site that has a known good reputation btw, this isn't just any other story, something is wrong indeed.

@somi: if your intention is to do serious overclocking, for now I would stay away from any budget line of boards, no matter what manufacturer.
