PP386SX? Short for the manufacturer name and the CPU model. Else it would be "generic 386SX".

Thinking UMC 386SX, since that is what is listed in the BIOS...

We have got UM 386SX unidentified and UMC 386 unidentified so UMC 386SX is still a free position (check the th99 list). Agreed :)
