I finally have a MoBo for my 3GHz procy (woot woot!!!)
One problem: It doesn't have any markings for the front panel!

s478, DDR1, "INTEL DESKTOP BOARD D865GBF/D865ERC".

I am unable to power up as I don't have a heatsink.

Thanks in advance!

That should have what you need.

Check the large cap near the memory slots for bulging. Yours looks like to have been replaced already by a Rubycon though.

And fit a CMOS battery as well.

Thanks, you two!

Got PSU. Got HDD. Got chassis. Got cables.

Now I need to poke at my pal for RAM. And go to the Egg for the heatsink.

Luckily, I found markings for the front panel.

And I got a battery.

Looks good! The stock Intel heat sink should handle all CPU types except the 3+ Ghz Prescotts. Not too many retailers have the Socket 478 CPU cooler left. But at NewEgg, this Rosewill model should be a good item. Otherwise, check eBay.. that is where "unwanted" NOS frequently winds up.
Should have been a small diagram just a bit away from the FP header.
Don't forget the audio header.. if not using the front panel audio, you need jumpers on 5-6 and 9-10 for rear panel jacks to work. If using a sound card, disregard that audio header.

Thanks again! :D

I only got two of these boards and one backplate. So, wait a couple weeks for end results, as I've got my $20 in my wallet, just need to find it....

I just had another look at your board, the 2nd to right taller capacitor directly above your CPU cage looks a bit weird. It may just be the flashlight but is the top completely flat like the other two left and right from it?
