My mother went ahead and bought a computer w/o me..........yup, you guessed it, a Gateway.

A year later, the thing won't boot, ps went on it, get this.....54 somoleans later, and I get a 185 watt replacement p/s for the 145 watt it had.........not only that, I had to replace the power switch on it too. That assembly was $39 (which hooks up the power led and power to mb), which I was not about to pay, so I hacked up a new atx power switch and hooked it up to the specialty plug for the mb. After an hour of complaining, I think she gets the idea to not do that again.......she can't even upgrade her processor at all.........and when she bought it the salesman didn't even offer to sell her a floppy. I know they are pretty obsolete, but I still find times to use one here and there..........

Gateway........................the epitomy of pathetic attempt to put machines on the market.

I knolw I don't have the baddest/or fastest/but damn close to cheapest bang for de buck. I think economics has little or no sway in minds of cretins, but gamers and geeks appreciate bang for de bucks. Linux is gonna kick MS ass--sooner than later.

Wow you seem to have a lot of games... Doesn't seem like you can do much.
Hold that thought.

I agree! All one has to do, is replace the mobo, ram, psu, zero-fill, and reinstall Windows! That's it! Pretty case!

I doubt that Linux will become more popular than Windows any time soon, but the number of people using Linux is growing.
