They are using the money for R&D instead of advertising. They do adverts in magazines, but no radio or TV spots. They don't need to really as anyone who gets into computers finds out about AMD by word of mouth.

AMD has actually gone up with their new processor codenamed Hammerhead that a lot of people have invested a lot of money into it already and it hasnt even come out yet. Also, their new line, called opteron, is supposed to be incredibly good.
