Well I'm going to jump in here and voice my opinion on this.

It's an amazing person in this day and age of selfish whores, to turn down money and fame for his own personal beliefs in what he is doing is right. The fact that he died for it, is a tragedy, but so is losing any soldier.

How many others would do that?

some cash? i can say in all honesty that i would NOT have done what he did. he gave up fame and fortune to fight and die, when i wouldn't fight and die FOR fame and fortune.

I would have taken the contract and played football. You can do a lot more good when you are alive than when you are dead. I think he made a poor choice.
