What's the best instant messenger?

ICQ, AOL, MSN...???

or better off without it?

We use ICQ at work, and I have it at home because it is one way I can stay in touch with my daughter, but our network tech hates it. Well, hate may be a strong word.

Also, I have noticed that there are not many members displaying ICQ numbers.

And now that I look at it I don't know why I even throw AOL in the group because it will take a miracle to convince me to use it  , although I think I heard they own ICQ.

Just eggin people on.

I use AIM and GAIM (a free IM client that is compatible with many other IM networks, including AIM).

I use AIM, personally. But very rarely. I only use it to find out what Ventrilo channel me and my buddies are going to use. I've used most I/M clients, and (believe it or not) AIM is the least annoying.

aim is said to have spyware or adware. it was posted not too long ago. so now i use gaim although it doesn't have the same features as aim. I rather have less features and no spyware than have more features w/spyware or adware.

It is all I use for my MSN and ICQ.

On a side not I hate MSN. BUT all the people I know at work and all my buisness contacts use MSN, so at least Trillan hides the fact. I use a nice Black theme.

I used to use yahoo messenger long ago but it started to try and take over my browser so I got rid of it. I've also used IRC and ICQ when I was in the TFC leagues because my team preferred them for clan meetings and getting in touch with each other durring the day (i don't know why) but have since found no use for them. Everyone I know uses MSN and I don't need to talk to the people that don't bad enough to clutter my computer with others messengers. I have used MSN for the past 5 years or so with out problems.
