I'm just wondering if PCChips motherboards are any good.

There isn't an appropriate word in any language to describe how bad their boards are.

Personally, I'd avoid something so cheap... to get that price that low, something had to be sacrificed! Mr T has had good success with them, they typically work out of the box. The good news is once it does die, you just pitch it and get a new one! More costly in the long run, but cheaper right now.

PCChips is another name for ECS, right?

I have an ECS K7S5A (which I bought very reluctantly due to ECSs reputation), and it doesn't seem too bad. It certainly isn't as good as the Abit and MSI boards in my main rigs, but it works just fine.

Hsin Tech is churning out PC Chips labeled and ECS labeled motherboards. It seems the quality control on the ECS boards is slightly better (compared to zilch on the PC Chips ones).

PC Chips is only supererior to the chicony boards of old - the "made pc chips boards look like gods and yugos look like tanks boards..."

at least pc chips doesn't deny they ever made the boards. Chicony is denying knowledge of anything but keyboards nowadays. We know they made motherboards and laptops but they simply deny ever making them. Would that have something to do with the lack of quality?
