A lot of people have heard, and yet a lot of people haven't heard about the new company recently out called XGI, that created the new graphics chipset called the Volari Series, which utilizes dual GPU's (much like an old Rage, and Voodoo card)

Now my question is, in your opinion do you think they will be able to contend with the likes of ATi, and nVidia?

This compares the beta release of the card (remember ITS ONLY A BETA) to ATi, and nVidia cards.

i personally believe that they will put up a good fight, considering that even with there beta version of the card, they were keeping up (more or less) with the higher end cards of ATi, and nvidia.

I don't care how well the beta card performed compared to ATI and Nvidia cards, they will still have to convince people that they have a better card and take some of the market share away from ATI and Nvidia. That's like a new CPU company trying to take away market share from Intel or AMD.....not likely.

Sis tried to hold up against ATI and Nvidia with their Xabre line and failed miserably, and they've been around for a long time.

I've seen the top of the line, and on beta drivers, it was shakey. What they need to do is put something out there that sends ATI and nVidia back home running, all while looking good, and overclocking some too.

Yes.

As long as there bench marks are good everyone loves a underdog and will get them. But there prices will be have to good or that just may be there downfall.

XGI has its roots in SIS from what I understand.

I think ATI or NVIDIA will gobble them up and absorb them into the Borg should they become too much of an upstart.
