Missing Intel in that list. As for reliability and stability.

And Shuttle and Jetway and I could go on. Most people will say Abit, Asus, MSI not necessarely in that order.

Abit Abit Abit! The best maker out there dude! 3 Year Warranty, Rubycon - defect-free transistors, masterful layout, nice looking pcb, more overclocking options than an army could shake sticks at, blatantly easy to use and get going, and after everything, insanely stable - wheter overclocked by 660 mhz, or putting along with stock. You can even RMA direct to abit if you got a problem. Need any more reasons not to choose Abit?

If you're asking RIGHT NOW, I'd say Abit for the P4 boards. Hard to say for AMD... I love the performance, but the layout stinks. But things so rapidly over time... For all we know, another brand could step up as the best overall in just a few months time. The market is too volatile for that.
Imagine some brand like Soyo becoming like Abit 2 months from now!
