Whine

Postby bruhthaKuga » Sun Nov 02, 2003 12:40 pm

That is a good idea, as the larger fans provide good air flow at lower RPMs which makes for less whine and if one can adjust the speed for cooler days even less noise.

well my enermax has 2 80mm fans two on the bottow and one where the plug is. i use the psu as an exhaust fan. so i'm ok for now. as i said i will mod it latter so this case will be completly different - i'm just going to use the main chasis as the starting point - by the time i'm done with it it won't even look like a PC.

no i didn't see that one - is it any good?

well i had some free time and i came up with some idea for the new shell - this is just a consept rendering - not taking into accout the fans and cd/floppy bays - just a general feel for the shape. the ribbs will be made out of clear 1/4" acrylic and the surface i was thinking of Lycra or some other stretchy fabric. tell me what you think.

Drives exit from the front, fans from the back. Now that will be sweet.

well my desk is glass and stainless steel to begin with so i'm not changing that, the rest of the room is white and i was thinking of a really bright red for the fabric of the shell. so its like white everywhere and this striking red wing. as for fan set up i was considering having intake fans on the bottom and the exhaust fans on the top of the back pannel and have some ducting to help that along so it circulates using the curvy shape at the front.

This would look cool on a wall or something, and a red wing, but would you have LED fans and a cathode or two to have a glow coming out>

on a wall it would be nice but the room is too big and i don't really want to stand up to put in a cd/floppy. as for glowing fans, in my opinion, no offence to anyone, they are a bit tacky - but i might put in a light of some sort in there just have to figure it out. it wold be nice if it glowed this warm orange or something.
