I like Opera, but the dynamic version (compiled from source) 6.10 is very buggy and doesn't seem to want to display Flash graphics. There is no Macromedia support for Opera so there's no plugin. I uninstalled it before I went any further, and switched back to Konqueror.

Can you say 10 unpatched vulnerabilities?

One of which is an SSL man-in-the-middle attack. I.e., bad if you're going to go shopping.

Also, I have a lot of reasons why I use mozilla.

I have a multi boot computer with different browsers on different partition: (XP, IE); (NT, Opera); (RedHat, Mozilla); (FreeBSD, Konqueror); (98SE, Netscape).

I think IE load web pages faster than any other browser. Based on speed alone, I have to go with IE.

I think Mozilla offers the best privacy features. Based on that alone, I have to go with Mozilla.

I think Opera is the most feature rich browser. Based on features alone, I have to go with opera.

I despise Netscape because after downloading and installing it, a script from the browser almost forced me to sign up for aol dial up services. The script was so strong, I had to physically power down the computer. There was nothing I could have done to stop it.

Overall, I have to go with IE because when surfing the net speed is the most important parameter for me. To compensate IE's weaknesses in safety and security, I use a soft firewall called ZoneAlarm and the norton antivirus.

I hate Netscape so much. I haven't used Opera since like 3.0 or something, so I'll give it a try. Now I'm using IE 6.0 and it's good but I'll have to look into alternatives, since I don't know what I'm missing...

Opera 7.1 is my choice.

It's skinnable - I like to change the look from time to time.

I just has lots of features!

I like the idea of being able to open a directory of my favorites..... when I do, all the favorites within the directory open in the background. I can then go through the pages in my leisure...... sweet.

Email is good - better than outlook, yet it is similar.

I also like not being tied to Microsoft.

Although, I do need to keep a copy of IE available, for there are a few pages that just won't work with Opera! Yes, it happens..... Old MS is up their tricks again..... making subtle changes that only work with their products......hmmmm reminds me of the Lotus 123 days and how it just didn't work as well as Excel....

I like Opera!

Netscape is going on the extinction list. I think AOL doomed Netscape.
