Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, truly, look at it from a realists point of view,
AMD's rule, game over, nothing more to say.

XP 2100+ (1.67 ghz) will out do a P4 2.2 ghz!!!!!!!!!!
on gaming and office apps.

XP 2600+ Hits the shops

Are we all sure now Intel is better?

AMD has always been the bang-for-buck CPU
Though it's getting a bit closer now

Say what you want but the majority of posts here with problems are from people with AMD processors. Just read all the threads. The proof is there in black and white.

AMD is well behind Intel in technology. Intel has been putting much research in to the Prescott, which will kill the next AMD processor with ease. AMD wins the useless benchmarks in SiSoft and Sysmark, but Intel dominates AMD's in everything visual: games, photo editing, surfing. The XP2600+ will not be able to rival even the 2.4ghz Intel in 3D games. It seems many of you were ignorant to the topic.

Funny, i read quite a few computer magazines, that have tested the XP 2000+ Against a Northwood 2.4ghz Pentium, and the XP ever so slightly outdoes the Pentium, OK that's not a great deal, but this is a 1.67 ghz chip here that can hold it's own against the 2.4 (mind you!!) ghz Intel.
Now granted Intel has the lead in gaming performance easily now over the AMD's, but still, still, the XP 2200+ beats it on content creation and business applications. OK not in the gaming arena, but hey AMD is finally moving to .13 micron chips, they are going to run cooler, they will be far more stable, bring it on Intel boys!!
You've had it too good for too long.

CLAWHAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cycle will continue with AMD having lead performance for 6 months, then Intel having it, and so on. By next year, Intel will be introducing the prescott core with .09u process, called the Pentium 5, and will outperform the Hammer processors until AMD releases the Sledgehammer's on .09u process several months afterwards. I speak in the gamer's stance, and am Pro-Intel because of the great performance difference in games. You will see that the AMD XP3400+ can't beat the 2.8ghz P4 in most games.

I hated my AMD K62 500mhz. I swore up and down that I wouldn't go with AMD again. Then it came time to upgrade and I couldn't afford Intel so I went with the XP 1600+ on an MSI K7T 266 Pro mobo. Now I can't really see myself going with Intel at all.

 AMD r0xx0rz, j0!

AMD is the poor man's processor.

I am running on an AMD system now, an XP1800 w/ Soyo KT266 dragon mobo with 256mb ram and radeon 8500 gpu games like Medal Of Honor:AA, Army Ops, and UT2003 often dive below 30fps, and bottom out at around 5fps. I'm now considering either going for a KT400 board with one of the new AMD CPU's, or going Intel, the way I should have went originally. I like AMD only because their competition lowers the prices of Intel CPU's.
