I'm behind you on this one Peter. I find that people are stereotyping ATI as bad cards due to poor drivers in the past. Just like I said that's in the Past. The new catalyst drivers improve performance quite a bit.

Here's a benchmark of the Ti4200 64MB versus the Radeon 8500LE 64MB. Look at it and tell me that the NVidia card is that much better than the ATI card? The new catalyst drivers make a big difference!!

Oh and this one will surely get Daytektrader going. Look at this benchmark. What's this an ATI Radeon 8500 128MB that parforms almost the same as a Geforce4 Ti4600 128MB. ??? Have people gone mad? I think not. It just shows how ATI have great quality products!!!

Don't blame me. It wasn't even when I voted.

wow the hundred year war forum is a little to quiet, lets see if we can't spark this debate back to life

i have in my possesion 3 cards(well four if you count an old g2gts) a Radeon 8500, Radeon 9000pro, and a geforce3 ti500

now we all know that a 9700pro will smoke any Nvidia card to date(the NV30 may change this but its no where to be seen) so there is no need to start yelling about it. besides who here is willing to drop 400 bucks on any video card?

anyway back to the task at hand, throughout tommorrow i am gonna be running some benchmarks Q3,Dronez, UT2003, RTCW and a few others as well as 3dmark2001SE so i will post my results some of my results here and we can finaly prove where ATi stands against Nvidia other than the flagship cards.

lets see if we can make a little noise in this otherwise dead catagory.

Ok Ok Ok if I had to choose one of the two in question I would have to lean towards the gainward!!!!!! every time ...
The Gainward Ti4200 64Mb card can and has been O/Ced to well past what the Ti4600's do out of the box...And for about half the price...
.
.
.
.
This has nothing to do with what I would buy for my own puter....
I own a Matrox and can't see ownin anything else...(Just kiddin)
I own 2ATI radeon 8500LE's and a Ti4200 64Mb also....
