Is "nobody really cares" even a point at all? (Aside from me being alone in caring. I see what you did there. But if you don't yourself care about this, why do you care that I care?) If the mods don't care about their own posted rules or enforcing them why post any? If the general board consensus is that nobody cares except me, I'm still allowed to express my opinion, no? (See what I did there? If you want to play eristic dialectic instead of clearing things up, I can do that too.)
Roach412 wrote:the rules are (as-always) at the discretion of the moderators. they make the rules, they enforce the rules...if they don't feel like enforcing the rules, then the rules don't get enforced. i'm not sure i can explain any more clearly either.
Moderators may make up rules and either follow them or not follow them at their discretion. And their decision is final, unless they change their minds. That's very clear, yes. I'd still rather hear their decision on this issue though.
Roach412 wrote:no...probably not, unless it's the exact same link(s). there's multiple occurances of this happening.
I may muster the patience to test this hypothesis, just to illustrate a point.
Roach412 wrote:why are you even wasting time on this anyways?
We may now agree the entire premise of this thread was an inflammatory fabrication that was debunked by any and all credible sources, but the OP has neither debated nor retracted it. Caring and getting at the truth is never a waste of anybody's time.
Roach412 wrote:i'm sorry you resent my implication, but both your written tone as well as your written words implicate yourself...it's not hard to read. i figured that you understood your own position - apparently i was incorrect.
I quite understand my own position. Where you are wrong is focusing on "written tone" over and above my literal statements. I can't be responsible for what your reading into my statements. Strangely, I've already had to mention this in this thread.
Roach412 wrote:also, how is "i agree with this cartoon" NOT an opinion? it doesn't matter if you post a thousand political cartoons, or do your dissertation on marxism/socialism and it's relation to obama. it is still an opinion...it will still generate some sort of response or provoke a thought to those that view it. and that, simply, is the point of it.
It is an opinion, as I did say. Glad you agree. It's just the same opinion in twenty threads. All these cartoons and emails being re-posted here may be designed to provoke, but I doubt it's to provoke thought.
Roach412 wrote:i'm going to bet that honestly, nobody cares that there's a lot of individual posts which are somewhat interrelated. it's not worth the time to find and merge them all nor to enforce it, unless (as i said before) it gets rediculous or malicious in its intent (i.e. spam).
If they are only "somewhat interrelated" and not "rediculous or malicious in its intent (i.e. spam)" there is no problem here and I am wrong in my opinion that they are spam that is completely interrelated with a ridiculous and malicious intent. Please don't re-quote only the part where I say "I am wrong."
Roach412 wrote:maybe if you wanted to help out the mods you could identify all the posts which could be merged together and provide them to the mods? i'll think you'll soon find why it's not worth the time. there's really no positive net cost/gain benefit.

I already did this too. See above. Could you re-read the thread before posting again, it's getting very repetitive.

1)
eunoia joined motherboards.org to post to 100 year war, and finally has enough SPAM to be able to post links.
2) We are supposed to just relax and 'trust' our reps to be responsible with our Constitutional Rights, notable the 2nd Amendment.
Well - OK. Language seems civil, and discourse is noted.
Anyway, eunoia:

Thanks for the welcome. I actually joined to post thanks and pictures of a prize I won from motherboards.org after it arrives. It didn't take a lot of reading these forums to understand why they aren't very busy though.
