This EXACT things happens to me. I was considering posting about in the TS forum a while ago. It starts using 90-99% of the CPU, and my entire system basically locks up, unless I close it. It's REALLY wacked up.

Maybe it's something else that's holding firefox up. Mines stays at 0-1 %

How did you know you had a mem problem?

You sure the cpu usage is not caused by Folding?

fyi - I've got 3 tabs open - ff mem usage is 34,232K.

It happens when ever I go through alot of tabs and go to sites with flash.
Its exactly as they are describing...
I am going to try the fix mentioned at the Mozilla forums and see how it works.

I have never had a problem with Firfox, it always uses around 40MB of memory and stays in the 1-2% CPU ussage.

So far with changing the amount of memory being used it works better. Flash objects seem to be the main problem.
Firefox has problems with 12-15 tabs and a flash page being used...
