ok i am sure its me and i am just doing somthing wrong but i used to be able to create a link for pages like http://www.newegg.com without showing newegg.com but for some reason those types of links are not working then end up like this newegg so whats wrong? and was there not a guide on the old forum about how to use all the different codes? where is that now?

Did you try clicking on the BBCodehighlighted on the side under options.

If that doesn't work try this link :)
