When raising a new case and entering my bios string

I get told that this is an invalid string, does that mean my pc is stuffed.

I just did a google search for your BIOS string as you typed it with the BIOS date - came up invalid. But I removed the date from the sting and this is what I came up with.

This is the wrong forum for a Mobo ID, but due to the circumstances, I feel this is relevant.

I do not know why some BIOS string searches come up dead such as yours, other then misspelling/typing. There are quite a few BIOS String searches that I have done that come up dead ends.

**to the moderators**
the BIOS string in the original post comes up a mobocop case in a google search without the date.

An invalid bios string simply means that the manufacturer hasn't followed the accepted conventions when forming the string.

For an Award bios the accepted convention means that a bios string appears like the examples below:-

That is:-

date of bios release - chipset - bios ID component - 00

That is:-

date of bios release - chipset - I/O chip - bios ID compnent - 00

The bios ID component is the principal part of the string used to identify a motherboard and this component is broken up thus:-

2A59I / F0 / 9C

chipset ID number / manufacturer ID number / board model ID

2A59I = Intel Triton TX chipset

F0 = FIC

If these conventions aren't followed the string is referred to as being an invalid string.

With the quoted string the manufacturer has formed the string thus:-

date - chipset - I/O chip - board model number - 00

The board model number has been substituted for the usual bios ID component.

The manufacture in this case is Atrend and the board model number is ATC-6130C.
