wat is OEM?? i keep seeing this... is this a bad thing?

Original Equipment Manufacture.

It means that it is not the Retail version, so it will come with a much shorter warranty and very little, if any, documentation. Most OEM parts are cheaper for these reasons.

OEM means that the warranty is slightly different. Usually only has a 30 day, instead of 1 year. There is almost no packaging, prolly will come in a static bag or something; no manuals. And it does not come with a heat sink (if its a processor for instance), or cables (if its a mobo), etc...

Same product, just less stuff. Usually works just aswell.
