crucial first and foremost, good price(at the time) free postage direct from the factory, and good for the local economy(factory in East Kilbride) lifetime guarantee.

What was this about ..
Oh yeah memory.. duh

Funny thing.. I'm using a OCZ XL (2-3-3-6) with Value Ram (bad timings go here) in my system..
If you don't get why thats funny then ...

When I can get a name brand at the price of Value Ram I will take it, besides that I have no use for it.

Yes per dim a fast latency or overclockable has its place in the right system but anyone thats wants to upgrade to a fast dim or overclock doesn't need me.

All most people want is more memory that works.

Better timings generally do mean a higher end dimm, I don't care who made it, its a signature that this particular dim passed X tests and had less flaws because every dimm has flaws.

I voted what was available that I didn't have prior issues with and was cost effective.. OCZ was the only one.

I have ran into boards that wouldn't run Crucial. I bought a batch of early production MSI nForce 2 boards that refused everything but OCZ EL and Kingston HyperX, but it was the boards not the RAM at fault. I really like OCZ, Crucial and Corsair, they're all very good with good support.

Although the question is a bit generic (i.e. Crucial only put the memory together, they don't make the actual chips), I've had great performance from memory by Crucial, Kingston, Geil and Corsair.

Crucial is the MAN!

I've had my share of disgust with PNY's incompatibility issues.
Cheapo memory is for cheapos.
Spend a few bucks more, and get the BEST, and it comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY!
Get the BEST from any top manufacturer.
Leave the cheap stuff in the dumpster where it belongs.
If you buy the cheapo memory, you will be send it back, and it will take 2 weeks to get it back, same cheap stuff, maybe you'll have to send it back again, and again, and again...you pay for the postage.
