I've been sitting in a plain wooden one for the past 5 years, and I'm just plain sick of it. What do I look for in a chair? I've got a budget of roughly $150 for my ass and back. Lead the way baby :P

Well for a budget of $150, you can get a really decent chair from places like staples, office depot - The one I got from staples ran about $99.00.....Its cloth (with padding), but it does not have movable arm rests. I spend on average of 8 - 10 hours a night in mine and it is holding up great and comfy too........

Well if you are very very lucky you might be able to find a Herman Miller Aeron chair 2nd hand on ebay. These are the best chairs money can buy and they rock! Good luck :D

Jesus Christ, I'd like a new chair come to think about it. I have a lowly 39 dollar swivel chair that at one time had cushion on the bottom and also could be adjusted up and down, and it didn't wobble either--but now after maybe 3 months of use it's the biggest pain in the ass i've ever had.

It's much more fun to focus on the hardware. What about the software that sits in front of it? Money spent on a good chair is money well spent. Even $500 if you have it. And for that matter what about a good monitor, keyboard and mouse. It is especially important for those who spend hours at their computer. But nobody in this forum fits that description.

I went to the junk yard and found a high back bucket seat out of a 84 chevy conversion van. it has arm rest and it swivils too. added a gas pressure shock and it moves up and down. It has a nice pouch on either side plus one in the back to keep my whiskey/smokes/cd roms in. now if I could just get that brown stain out......

Hey that is a bitchin idea.

I grabbed a couple of old chairs from an office and made myself a good chair. The top consits of a leather chair with a couple of missing wheels, I took off the bottom and used the lower part from a chair missing the back rest.

The only prob I ran into was adapting the two together. That took a piece of plywood.
