Running temperature of a p4?

Postby jmstacey » Fri May 24, 2002 1:55 pm

What is the maximum temperature an intel p4 1.6A processor will run at with-out a melt down :?: :?:
I want to try overclocking it, but I've never heard of good temperatures for a p4, only amd's.
Thanks!!

Well the good thing about P4's is you can't burn them up. I believe that even without a heatsink the cpu runs without frying. Whenever it starts to get hot however, the mhz of the cpu lowers and can go down until your in 486 territory.
