CPU fan for i7-7700K in Asus TUF Z270 Mark 2 motherboard?

Postby jgy2001 » Thu Jun 22, 2017 9:40 am

Seeking recommendation to choose CPU Fan for i7-7700K 4,2G (no overclocking) in ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 2 motherboard?
So far, for air cool, I found, are the cheaper one works well?
Noctua NH-D14 speed 900 - 1200 RPM noise 12.6 - 19.8 dbA $69.95
Noctua NH-D15 speed 300 - 1500 RPM noise 19.2 - 24.6 dbA $88.15
CRYORIG H7 speed 330 - 1600 RPM noise 1.0 - 25.0 dbA $42.55
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO spped 600 - 2000 RPM noise 9.0 - 36.0 dbA $24.88

No liquid cool required, right?

Air-cooled CPU setups can be efficient, and good.. as long as there is sufficient air flow through the case. Best ratio is 1.5 times the air moving into the case than out.
Dynatron® has a nice line of CPU coolers too. Radial fins, copper core.

Karlsweldt, thank for reply.

Dynatron only make one air cool fan, V35G, for GPU solution, 50x50x10mm, 2 pin connector,
None available in Amazon, only at eBay for $10.28.
Only 1 Amazon feedback, 1 star, "Does not fit in any of my 5 motherboards. Could not use it at all. Its sitting in the drawer"

For the LGA1151 type socket, Dynatron recommends the "K199" model, a low-profile unit. Also the "K987" model, more a standard size. Some CPU cooler models fit different socket types, others are specific to one socket type.

Karlsweldt, Thanks for so quick reply.

Looking at all the items in Dynatron, now I see how they set up their product lines,
So for workstation & gaming LGA1151 , for my system, likely fit is K17 for 105W at around $35
Speed 1000-500rpm, air flow 5355 to 14718 cfm,
noise 20 to 51 dbA (may be too noisey for me, this could be deal breaker).

the picture in Amazon show kind of bulky and ugly?

There are many great brands and models of CPU coolers. And some not-so-great. Choose one that fits your needs, and is most efficient and quiet. I have had no problems with the Dynatron® brand on 3 systems I built, in many years.
Price alone does not equal the best quality or performance.
