A floppy disk is not the best media for file transfers. There may be a very minor difference in alignment (how the heads read the tracks), and data is "not there" with some drives. Best would be a USB flash drive, or via LAN.
Did find a suggestion that may help
DuaneFowler successfully transfer those .DBX files.. might apply to different Windows versions. With some newer Windows OS versions, older programs are not compatible.. and the file format may not be recognized on newer versions. Especially true with Word Pad!
