I have a viglen 4dx33 genie mobo numbered P6450A rev F3 . The backup battery has died, and I cannot locate it on the board, not can I find a battery pack anywhere. Searched the Viglen legacy files, cannot find the manual for this mobo. Grateful for info as to battery location and type, also manual for this board. Thanks

Welcome to Motherboards.org.
A lot of older-style motherboards did not have a separate BIOS battery. It was part of a BIOS chip, named Dallas Real Time.
About the size of two domino chips, it contains 1/2 of the BIOS system plus a small battery and a crystal oscillator for the clock.
Hopefully, it is in a socket! If not, then perhaps the chip can be unsoldered and replaced with a socket for the chip.
Typically, it is labeled as a "Dallas DS1287, or DS12887.
There is a way to revive the chip by grinding away a part of the cap, exposing the battery and crystal leads if soldered in place, and too much hassle to replace.
That design is obsolete, but still some 'new' Dallas chips are available.

on the far right, the vertical chip looks like exactly that (Dallas-type RTC chip with integrated battery)

Likely some other brands for the same motherboard design. You can 'mouse over' and zoom in on this link..

A shame, for the cost of a socket, the motherboard would be binned when the soldered on chip's battery died!
But that was back in the "disposable" age, the late 1980s and early 1990s.
