Thanks a lot for the advice Karlsweldt. Tried it all. Unfortunately, nothing.
Maybe I should call MSI? I just don't know how well I can speak Taiwanese.

Well just in case it is Windows XP for some god forsaken reason, would Knoppix boot CD more than likely auto-detect any drivers? Or what other OS/software would be simple to test if it is the hardware or drivers for XP?

Nope. No such feature on mine. I have three Advanced Menus in volume control: one for turning Mic in to Line out for rear, one for turning line in for line out for center, and one for the Mic's 20db boost. None under the main volume for switching to digital... So I'm assuming this is an analog-only ...

How would I go about changing it from Digital to Analog though? It was my udnerstanding this onboard sound was analog only. And I do not see any sort of way to change it in the volume control or the sounds in the control panel.... That could be a possibility I guess.. And trust me, I've tried every ...

I actually have a similar set up Sabrewings, with a Lite-On on its own channel and the NEC on its own too. The Lite-On is consistently beating the crap out of the NEC one. I think it might have to do with the firmware. That or the Lite-On is just faster at reading since that's what it's made for.

Well I never did try to uninstall it... It seemed pretty harmless to me, a simple shell replacement. Maybe a good idea to make a system restore checkpoint beforehand though...

So you are just using 2x80's in a RAID 0? Honestly, if you have important non-recoverable files I wouldn't do that... RAID 0 means your hard drives are twice as likely to fail... Oh okay. Yes. It is showing up there as default and all the good stuff. It is set to map to it and all that... I still just can't believe the soudn chip is bad... Or else all 3 of my outputs are...
