Re: dc power supply short to ground diagnosis

Don't know why you'd pump so much voltage to find a short... :o

Just need to find continuity to your ground where you don't expect it. You're looking for resistance - so whatever the multimeter's "voltage" is when testing ohms. probably in the 500mV range or lower.

Re: Batch File Works - but - Does Not End

ENDLOCAL I believe EXIT will be a sledgehammer approach as well - typically, I've done my scripts something like below (this one just counts some files and if >5 reports that the process is stuck and pauses permanently until acknowledged. @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION SET count...

Re: Need Advise on RAM

SATA 3 is backwards compatible with SATA 2 - so no worries there. you'll just transmit at SATA 2 speeds. Crucial provides a "guaranteed" compatibility list for your MB: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Intel/dq35jo#SSDFilters You can get a 250gb MX500 for $50(comes wit...

Re: RAM Added to MB

XP is limited due to it being only 32bit - you'll need a 64bit OS in order to utilize more than 3.25gb of memory. :( There's workarounds - but, it involves using other software to allow it. I've never done it, and don't know anyone who has so your experience may or may not be exactly good. Some opti...

Re: Should I Upgrade?

This all comes with a caveat of "I have no idea how you plan on using this"... depending on your usage, Win7 on 2gb could really be stretching it. the major improvement of going to Win7 and being 64bit is allowing >4gb ram utilization, so...IMHO, you should max your memory to 8gb. dependin...
