Make sure the BIOS is set to detect (ie AUTO) the CD ROM on that IDE channel. Is there power getting to it, ie does it light up on startup?

You only need to use the holes provided, the PCB that makes up the motherboard can take quite a bit if stress. In my builds I always put the HSF and memory on before I screw the board into place. Once in place it shouldn't need any more support.

Should do, thats why you have a "PC Health" option in the BIOS to show your temps, voltages and fan speeds.

You can dual boot win xp and 2k. I have had on my system win98se, win2k, win XP and linux all working fine. However if you want to put win2k on your going to have to remove XP and put win2K on first and then put XP on. Windows doesn't allow you to 'upgrade' to an older operating system.
