Re: Is my Router or ISP cable modem failing?

I'm still having this same problem. I replaced the ISP cable modem with a new ARRIS SB6183. I also replaced the Ethernet cable. The problem keeps happening the same way. My modem is fully connected and running fine. Then at random times the router looses the connection. To bring it back, I need to r...

HP Photosmart C4250 All in One "not Detected" ***SOLVED**

So my HP Photosmart C4250 All in One printer is out of ink again. I buy the same HP 74/75 ink I always do. For the best price I get it at my local Wallyworld. I go to remove the old ink cartridges and install the new ones like normal. Instead of loading up normally, I get this message: "Print C...

Is my Router or ISP cable modem failing?

So like always I have "issues" with my cable internet service. :? Spectrum tends to be that way, and I'm stuck with them. So I adapted and work around the issues the best I can. Recently they doubled my internet speed for "free", after the $5 price increase a couple months ago. :...

Win10 Update now NO Icons of folders are shown [FIXED]

:( It happened again, a Win10 update screws up the desktop. The only thing I see on my desktop is the Icon or Files name. Each one shows a box around them when I hover my mouse over them. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________...

Re: Laptop crashed, tried reboot, wont start.

It should work out of the 'box' as it is an Atheros chipset and they are generally supported (Broadcom is a different matter). If you can use the latest distro, it will have updated firmware. The only let down on old laptops is the screen resolution (I have some limited to 1024 x 768, works, but lo...

Re: Laptop crashed, tried reboot, wont start.

Intel Ark Celeron M575 says Intel 64 and instruction set 64bit, so it must be 64bit. Most distro's have gone 64bit to cover security within browsers and other updates. There was a lot of fuss when Ubuntu was going to drop 32bit binaries which meant Steam wouldn't work (requires 32bit binaries for o...

Re: Laptop crashed, tried reboot, wont start.

Your CPU is 64bit so you will be able to run an up to date distro. I would get cheap SSD and upgrade the RAM (if you haven't already done so) to 4Gb (2 x 2GB DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 SODIMM) cost about $13 which will improve speed. Distro wise for the windows look and feel, ZorinOS is good another is q...

Re: Laptop crashed, tried reboot, wont start.

Any good distros for a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5915 ?? Do I need a 32 or 64 bit?

Just something for web browsing, listening to audio, watching videos, nothing to elaborate. A few included games are also fine.
I would like it to have a Windows feel (start menu in the lover left corner, etc)
