I use an old version of nero (nero 7) and I use IE 7. Is IE tied to the windows file explorer?

The thing is it is not nero that is asking to burn to a disk... it is the windows explorer (right from my computer)

No extra drives. I don't know what explorer's problem is but it is not that

Its not the device... it has something to do with windows explorer or something. It's not a big deal I use linux most of the time anyways... It is just an annoyance that is all.

No, It is not a burn problem... it is a problem with explorer. I have tested that. It does it with all disks... it thinks all disks (burned and factory) can be written to, but if i use anything else i can read it fine. Explorer just wants to burn to anything. I look at the logs all the time (/var/log/auth.log) The point is i get servers who find my server and then try to brute force it by trying to log onto a dictionary of user names and junk like that. I know the chances of them finding one is slim, but I would like to put in some sort of countermeasure.

Is there a way i can get it so if someone keeps trying to hack my ssh it will automatically add them to the drop list? Or set up the ssh server to somehow stop letting them to connect after a few failed attempts?

how do you set ip as static? (as in i know you can just set the ip of the eth0)? but is that setting it static, what about after restarts and junk?
