No, It is not a burn problem... it is a problem with explorer. I have tested that. It does it with all disks... it thinks all disks (burned and factory) can be written to, but if i use anything else i can read it fine. Explorer just wants to burn to anything. Using command prompt I can get to the cd...

I use linux for most of the time so this is not a big issue, but for some reason whenever I put any cd into the cd drive and then double click on it from the my computer, It tells me it is blank and gives me a box to enter the name for the cd session to be burned. I look at the logs all the time (/var/log/auth.log) The point is i get servers who find my server and then try to brute force it by trying to log onto a dictionary of user names and junk like that. I know the chances of them finding one is slim, but I would like to put in some sort of countermeasure.

SSH and IPTABLES?
Is there a way i can get it so if someone keeps trying to hack my ssh it will automatically add them to the drop list? Or set up the ssh server to somehow stop letting them to connect after a few failed attempts?
