Quality control checking pre-purchase
Client wanted a replacement to her dead laptop (RMA, free fedex label). I persuaded her to get a desktop (she had the space). That one went spastic. (RMA,free fedex) All my hours setting it up and installing software went down the drain 31 days later. Of course I got an RMA, but no pay for the setup...

BDUBDC-- good work!
And thanks also to LastPass, because it remembered my password for this site when I couldn't, because I haven't been on in a while. (See below...) My folding stats are really crummy compared to my high of 14 or 15, although I'm about to fix that. But meanwhile, I'd just like to say two things. Why i...

Tony H -- very interesting, and I already located these pages (I was going nuts!). But alas, they don't apply. This thing took over my entire 2 Tera Q drive (Q for Quisling), and then made it inaccessible. None of the data which was on it is available. I tried EaseUs Recovery and it couldn't see a s...

Thanks, but the drive, with or without the new 4 T installed, simply refuses to yield up any data. It wants to be formatted. I don't know what this 4 year old message does to help -- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeversion_other-office_install/microsoft-office-click-to-run-2010...

Congratulations on it all working out well. This DOES occasionally happen, you know...actually, most of the time.

is there a limit to Chrome bookmarks?
I have already plumbed the depths of Google, and although I gleaned enough to know that my client has 7779 bookmarks in folders, I can't find whether there is a limit. But recently, he was able to scroll to the bottom of his Chrome bookmarks, and now it stops midway. I have verified this, and reduce...

what the...? Drive renamed amd inaccessible
It says "Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 (protected)."
Shows the 2 Tera as full which it was not, and it is "protected" and I have tried all manner of the obvious stuff, but in Disk Management the drive appears as unallocated space. Anyone seen this before?

AOL POS, but I sympathise
You guys, he has to live with his wife! What you should have done was to search for an older-than-windows 8 computer for your wife. You can try turning user interface control to off, that may help. But some things won't work in win8, and your wife may have to accept that. I will give more specific i...
