Re: no cursor at lock screen...

found this registry fix to change the way the lock screen works... "Get Rid of the Useless Lock Screen" "HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows and create a new key called Personalization if it doesn't already exist. Within the Personalization key, create a DWORD (32-bit) value calle...

Re: Installing Win7 on 4TB drive

reading through this, the very beginning begs the question... when you first installed 7 to this hdd, i'm wondering why it did not format the drive gpt in the first place. is that because you didn't have uefi booting activated in the mobo bios? I think even with legacy mode, the windows installer of...

Re: Drive cloned to SDD boots but doesn't not load.

not only is the chipset probably way different... I think windows10 does not like to be changed to a different motherboard if it is an installation from oem disk, and you will have difficulty getting m$ to activate it. maybe you used a retail version of win10? but yeah, what evasive said... the head...

no cursor at lock screen...

a win10 machine here acts differently recently... on boot, the lock screen shows with no login line in the middle, and no cursor showing. if I move the mouse then click or hit a key on the kb, the cursor shows and I can login. if I do nothing for a minute or so, the screen will go black after about ...

Re: ccleaner new version...

just an update... ccleaner has a new version now that takes that whole system tray component out of the picture unless you enable "smart cleaning"... so all is good.

Re: ccleaner new version...

yeah, I tried all of that. none worked. ccleaner always came back in the system tray at a reboot if you had run ccleaner during the last session. it always re-appeared in msconfig as an active service at startup. so I checked at piriform website, and noticed that they reverted the latest version tha...

ccleaner new version...

anybody know how to stop the monitoring agent from showing up in the system tray every time the computer is logged onto. I've turned it off in msconfig, but it always returns.
this is under win7.

Re: win10 anni edition 1607...

thanks for the links... nothing pointing to where to actually get the guts to install just 1607 on its own that I can find, yet. seems to me if you download an "install tool", which then gets the actual installer, and that installer can be changed to suit the providers wants (as in m$)... then they ...
