Re-using your old 450W PS may be marginal... I'd look at nearly twice that much power to have headroom for upgrading later. This one is single rail [email protected] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139025 I also always use Battery backup... voltage sag can cause HD write problems......

Thanks for that, I may very well go with exactly those parts. Just a couple quick thoughts: Is that FX-4100 going to be noticeably better for me than say an Athlon X4? Does the FM1 platform support multiple monitors? If it does, then one more idea I had was to re-purpose my gpu into a dedicated HTPC...

He's the only republican candidate I would vote for, and he's not even a republican. What does that say about the state of the republican party today? I agree that he seems at the very least to be the most genuine out of the bunch, yet he gets no love from media. It's a shame independents have no ch...

Hi

Haven't been around in quite awhile now and just wondering who is still around from the old days?

Been pretty busy myself, but came back becasue my old system is now crapping out, so I'm in the market for upgrades.

Thanks for the input! Budget, hmmm... well I don't really have one, but currently building a new house, so I would prefer to spend as little as possible for my needs but still get quality and reliability/stability. Maybe board and CPU for under $200? I was thinking about going with a gigabyte build ...

mobo, cpu recommendations please!

Hey all, been away for a long long long time, and very confused by all the new CPU/mobo combos out now. My old AM2 board has developed bad caps and I'm in the market again. I don't need anything too powerful, but I do game occasionally, but not too seriously. When I do game it's usually Fallout 3, C...
