Thanks guys, I really appreciate the helpful comments. I guess I'm probably going to go to NTFS, I don't really see a reason not to right now, and I am going to a bigger HDD. I can always go back! Anyway, I'l llet you know how it goes. Thanks again.

New to NTFS

Hey all, I'm going to be practically building a completely new system here (I already have most of the components), and I'm wondering if I should go to NTFS. I'll be installing a completely new version of Windows XP Pro, onto a fresh HDD. I've always used Fat32 for some reason and I'm wondering if t...

if you have 600 dollars for a video card go for it even though you will be just fine with the 6800 gt A person who has $800 for a CPU has $600 for a video card. Overpriced components go well with other overpriced components. Normally I would agree dr_st however I'm trying to skimp a little on the v...

Ok, so I'm definitely going to go with the Athlon X2 4400+, now all I need to do is choose a PCI express Video Card. Right now I'm looking at the eVGA Geforce 6800GT , what do you guys think? Currently I'm running an AGP Radeon 9800pro, but I won't be able to use it when I upgrade. So I'm looking fo...

Upgrade: Athlon FX-55 Vs. Athlon 64 X2 4400

Hey all, I'm hoping to be upgrading fairly soon and I'm debating which processor to get. I'm going AMD socket 939 all the way, I'm just trying to choose between the FX-55 San Diego and the Athlon 64 X2 4400 . I'm mainly going to be gaming, but when I'm not, I do tend to push the limits of multi-task...

The only bad thing about running 2 gigs is you usually have to set the memory to a 2T command rate. However, with the new San Diego and venice cores, you can run it and keep a 1T command rate. Well the reason I was thinking about going with 2GB was for longevity purposes. Right now 1GB seems to be ...

Equivalent to the 9800 would be the X700 or X800 pro. However, your best value in a budget card is the 6600GT. Also wait a few weeks and get the new San Diego core 4000 or 4200 which are improved versions of the clawhammer core and can handle 2 gigs of memory far better than the Clawhammer. The 400...

Socket 939 Mobo?

Hey all, been a while. Anyway, it's time for my next upgrade, and man is it going to be a whopper! I've pretty much got everything pinned down except for a mobo and video card, that is unless AMD decides to release their new dual-core processors anytime soon. Anyway, here's what I've got so far. Ath...

Re: Where is the game for me?

I don't consider myself a gamer, but I enjoy the distraction now and then. The problem is I tire easily of a game. I recently installed FarCry on my gaming system and got through the first half of the levels and then stopped. Its just the same old thing. Go here, go there, kill that, save that, sho...
