Wow, Nobody has an answer? I still haven't been able to connect via my 2nd computer. Ipconfig on the Desktop does not list "up.charter.net" but the laptop does. Maybe that info helps.

It might have nothing to do with the IP address that is just the direction the so called Tech Support people went down at the cable company.

Ok I went into sounds and disable every sound. Still hear the clicking.
How do I get to "start navigation"

If it 'goes away' when muted - it's a part of the sound scheme, try getting into Control Panel, Sounds (System Sounds), and see what event is connected to the sound ('preview' the sounds).

I made this change a while ago my current sound scheme is "no sound"
