MS Access: Importing multiple .doc's for cataloging?

Hello all. Long time no see. Problem: I am trying to create a means of compiling the information from multiple .doc files (which are completely identical except for a few user-inputted fields like "date" and "quantity", etc.), and have that data easily searchable. My idea: I was thinking that MS Acc...

Mapping a network drive from a remote PC? (SSH/VPN/MSTSC)

G'day. I have been trying to find a way to connect my desktop in the States to my computer here in the UK so that I can easily do file sharing, seamlessly and as fast as possible over the internet, as if it were on a local network. Windows XP on the one in the states; windows server 2003 in the UK. ...

Tunnel through BlueCoat Proxy

BlueCoat is probably the most secure proxy out there. The model in particular that we are using is an 800 series. What I've been trying to do is find a way to encapsulate a restricted protocol in an allowed protocol's mask to allow me to use SSH/SSL tunneling through an open port. To my knowledge, t...

Ah yes. Sorry I forgot to say all the stuff I knew. Yes, DMA is enabled from what I could see by going to Dev Mgr and looking at the IDE channels, the HD is Ultra DMA 5, the two dvd-roms are Ultra DMA 2, and I looked at the controller for the USB but I don't think USB has DMA, does it? Maybe that is...

Burning DVD with Nero--read buffer often drops to 0%

I don't quite understand this problem, but it's been happening with several of these computers at work when trying to burn to my external DVD burner (BenQ EW162I with 47P9 w/ RPC1 firmware, also tried with stock 47N9 firmware). Essentially, every time I start to burn a DVD with Nero at 8x or above, ...

Which ports are you forwarding? 80 to 5900? Are you sure your ISP supports port 80 inbound, if so? How is your LAN set up?

I felt it was slightly more effort than a post. A post requires two clicks. That at the least requires three.

Somehow rolling back the vga drivers then re-installing the new ones worked. I don't understand it. I'm guessing it might have autoadjusted to a refresh rate slightly out of range for the monitor and reinstalling fixed it.
Thanks.

Monitor twitches like a crack addict.

I don't see why but when I woke up this morning to look at my computer I looked at the screen and noticed it was "twitching" like it was at a refresh rate of like 40hz. Everything on the screen sort of moves up a fraction of a millimeter and twitches back down right afterwards. It's really annoying ...
