It also depends on what resolution you plan on running. Seeing as you said 2x256mb cards, you won't be doubling up to 512mb in SLI/Crossfire as the data is mirrored. Larger vram is needed for high resolution gaming. It's becoming essential nowadays to have lots of vram and 512mb is becoming ideal., ...

I'd go for the 256mb 8800GT if your res isn't going above 1440 :D It will run most of the new games maxed out, but I can't vouch for Crysis since the game eats up any hardware you throw at it. Since you won't be cranking up AA/AF all the way to 16, I think the 256mb 8800GT should be adequate. Playin...

The Radeon 3870 is a good card, but the newly released 256mb 8800GT may be the better choice depending on what resolution you play at. It's around ~$215 shipped USD, so I don't know what the going rate in CAD is.

What resolution do you play at and do you max out AA/AF?

Take a look at the MSI ATI Radeon HD 3850 OC Should fit into your budget. This is the card to get for performance/price ratio and if you want to stick to your budget. It fits between the performance of an 8600GTS and 8800GT. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127313&Tpk=MSI%2bR...

Yeah, I'm sure someone can help you out with the shipping info. You can maybe find out if Lenovo will ship it to the UK? If you look at the top of that page for the T60 configuration, it shows that you can change country/region. Maybe you could call them up or something and see if you can get it in ...

I know a place where you can get cheap badges...but they aren't factory originals.

Sucks that AGP cards are so expensive compared to PCI-E counterparts.

I'll be on the lookout. I don't know if you are an ebayer or not, but if I find any good cards there for cheap, I'll send a PM over.

When do you need this by?

I hope you don't but I mean that ...
