Sapphire is still very new to the motherboard arena and even though they have had a few motherboards in the past this is still relatively new territory for them, but they now have an ace up their sleeve. What gives Sapphire an Ace up the sleeve? Sapphire has now hired the entire design team from EVGA, and these folks are the Mac Daddies of designing highly design intensive motherboards geared for the high-end gamer and enthusiasts market as seen by many of the X58 motherboards released by EVGA last year. One thing that has once again made the X58 chipset a hot commodity again is the fact that P67 chipset got recalled and that made the X58 the way to go.
The X58 is the high end of Intel’s motherboard chipset lineup and offers superior features as well when compared head to head with the P67 chipset motherboards that were recalled due to a chipset defect involving the SATA 3GB ports. The P67 CPUs like the i2600K are awesome CPUs, but they also contain a GPU onboard as well, something many hard core users think is a waste of time. Sapphire has put a lot of effort to come out with an X58 motherboard that not only has some solid specs, but one that is affordable as well. That said the motherboard we are looking at today is the all-new Sapphire X58 Pure Black motherboard that is geared for the gamer or enthusiast user. This motherboard is currently available at many outlet stores and online.
