The Sapphire HD 6870 Vapor-X card comes inside a 9 inch PCB nearly identical to the Toxic card except for the name on the corner of the card. The front of the PCB has an all-black color. The left side of the card has the Vapor-X branding with the AMD Radeon HD6870 to the right of that. In the middle of the PCB is the cooling fan. This fan has 11-fins. If you look at the graphics chip area under the fan it is clear that there is a plate covering the Barts chip with three heatpipes coming off that plate and a heatsink surrounding it.
The top of the card is where the two 6-pin power connectors are located. This position doesn’t interfere with installation of drives as if the connectors were on the back of the card. There is a single Crossfire bridge on top of the card allowing the card to run in two-way Crossfire mode with another HD 6870 card. The back of the card has the four mounting screws for the GPU mounting and the Part Number sticker.
The bottom of the card is where the PCI Express connector is. There’s only one way to install the card it requires a full-length PCI Express slot. The I/O on the card consists of a Single-Link (1920x1200) DVI-I, a Dual-Link (2560x1600) DVI-I, a HDMI connector and two DisplayPort connectors. Up to four monitors can be installed using the connections with the DisplayPort connectors required. You can also install a MST hub to have up to six monitors on a single card.
