Sapphire Pure Platinum A75 Motherboard Review

Fri, 2011-07-29 18:13 -- B. Ramirez

Now that we’ve gone over the main features of both the chipset and the features that Sapphire have added, let’s talk about the performance of this board. One of the first things I have to mention though is that these boards generally retail for between 110 and 125 dollars. So they are roughly the same price as the processors that they use. This is generally a good way to look at how to purchase your AMD motherboards. The board should usually cost as much or a little less than the processor that’s going into it.

This board actually performed really well when compared to the other A75 board from Gigabyte that we tested previously. The scores were very similar with the two of them swapping in terms of taking the lead. This demonstrates that this is a very solid performer. With the AMD boards that we’ve tested as of late Gigabyte has managed to remain in the lead. So for Sapphire to put in this type of performance really proves that this is a very good choice for the new FM1 Llano processors.

These boards aren’t really designed for the enthusiasts but they have features that you would expect to find in the enthusiast range. This is really nice to see for a board in this price range. It shows that Sapphire understands what features that customers want to see implemented in the mid-range. Sapphire has been very good at giving their customers great features for a reasonable price. This board has continued that tradition and this should help Sapphire to remain one of the best values on the market.

This board looks pretty good actually. It comes with plenty of connection options and will appeal to those that want to use this for a home office or home theater pc. It is a standard ATX board but it’s small enough to fit into any mid-tower case that you’d want to use.
