Gigabyte Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse Review

Thu, 2011-05-05 20:47 -- Shane N.

The GUI has a unique and aggressive background. Aivia has employed the same design of the GUI from the K8100 gaming keyboard. It comes with 32KB of onboard memory which can be arranged in 5 different profiles that allow up to 70 macros. On the top right of the GUI we can see they have included two modes of power and two modes of hand orientation. The mouse can be customized to gaming or power-saving mode and right or left hand depending on the user’s preference. They also have preprogrammed some basic functions on the right side panel such as: left click, right click, browser forward/backward, calculator, etc…

On the top left there is a profile LED color changer that allows you change the color of the LED light for each profile. There are 27 different colors to choose from including black for turning the LED off. You can customize the sensitivity of the mouse with 4 different settings with a range of 100 to 6500 dpi. And you can also customize the scrolling speed for vertical and horizontal directions.

The macro script editor that allows you record any key sequence you want is pretty straight forward. You simply press the keys you want recorded in the sequence you desire and it will record every action you performed. New macros that are saved on GUI are defaulted as an icon with a number. After saving the macro, you simply just drag the macro to the button you want to override in the profile you desire. Overall the GUI interface is unique and easy to use. Now’s lets go over the main reason why we spend extra money for a gaming mouse, comfort and performance.

The Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse from Gigabyte is a great mouse that is more than capable of improving your performance and experience during hours upon hours of gaming. It is priced around 104 dollars and is a great first step into the gaming market of mice for Aivia.
