With the advent of Blu-ray players, HDTVs, computers and video game consoles that all support the HDMI interface, the need for a centralized source to switch between them has never been greater. The VM0404H allows you to use video signals from up to four different devices and send them to up to four different monitors or TVs.

Virtually every HDTV, computer and video game console has an HDMI connector built in today. Some HDTVs have DVI or DisplayPort connectors, but you can use an adapter in those cases. The Digital Video Matrix Switch has the capability of sending the output from a Playstation 3 for example to the TV screen with the push of a button on the DVM.

The video splitter in the VM0404H allows a video signal to be sent to up to four monitors or displays. In fact, with cascading you can hook up to 64 monitors using multiple VM0404Hs. If you imagine a conference such as CES or E3 where you want to show a large image of a game or a product instead of one large screen you use many smaller screens to split the image up.

The Digital Matrix Switch can drive those four monitors at up to 1920x1200 resolutions from a computer and the 480/576i resolutions of a NTSC television set. HDTV resolutions of 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p are also supported depending on the monitor being used. One thing to note is that the aspect ratio and resolution of the display devices should be set to the same setting for best results.
