Asus really could have done a much better job with their new O! Play HD2 media player. Its overall functionality of the media player was not as great as I would have hoped. The internal hard drive bay’s fan was very loud, indexing multimedia files took way too long, and the movie preview was too small. There are some key features that did make this better than the previous model is: improved video playback, audio quality, online media services and the amazing speed from the USB 3.0 port. It does also offer many inputs and various media file formats that make it better than its competitors such as DVico and WD TV. I wished that they would have executed the overall function of the GUI interface better. When it comes down to performance vs. cost, I think this media player is still a great buy because it offers great features and remarkable performance. The Asus O! Play HD2 is a decent upgrade from its previous model and is priced around $200 dollars.
