ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP SLI and 3D Vision Surround Gaming Review

Fri, 2010-07-30 02:47 -- Benjamin Sun

As it stands, two of these ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP video cards outperform a single GTX480 card in virtually every situation. The benefit of using two cards besides pure performance is the additional features of the NVIDIA cards; PhysX and 3D Vision Surround Gaming. PhysX games are known for the hardware physics effects when playing games supporting the feature on the video card. 3D Vision Surround allows you to play games on three monitors giving a wider FOV compared to the single or dual monitor setup but also results in a performance loss that will require you to lower the settings compared to without 3D Vision Surround. Playing games with 3D Vision Surround is an all-new experience, like watching Avatar for the first time. ASUS’s ENGTX 460 cards are high performance non-reference versions of the 460 and perform great. As far as SLI or CrossFire setups are considered, this is one to seriously consider, it gets an Editors Choice for that category.
