Intel is known for their pioneering and their forging of the anvil, so to speak, in the chipset business. They still dictate a great deal of what happens in the computer business, and they usually force the market their way; not being led by others, but always being a leader in the technology game.

It is true that Intel has made a few choices that did not turn out well for them market-wise, such as the Rambus affair and their MTH issues, but overall they are still setting the trend for what happens in the industry and are by and far still the most stable platform that you can get your hands on these days.

What does the future hold for Intel? Many might be wondering, with the market as unsteady as it has been in recent days. Well, for starters, look for Pentium 4 motherboards that support DDR SDRAM and for CPU prices to decrease significantly in the next month, making the Pentium 4 available to the mid-market crowd and putting the crunch to their rival chipmaker AMD.

Intel is set to compete and take back by storm the market that has now been tread upon by the underdogs over at AMD, and if they play it right what they do could change the tide of the current market. AMD makes a fast but very unstable product in most cases. I receive more complaints from people complaining about the inconsistencies of AMD\'s compatibility than I ever do on Intel\'s product line.

I have always been pleased with the reliability and compatibility that Intel has constantly brought to light in their products. No one has yet been able to make a mark in the business server market, and Intel holds the crown jewels in this arena with technologies that still cannot be matched by their competitors. Intel holds their own in the server market, hands down, as no one has of yet been able to compete with them in this arena.

A lot of people do not realize the full scope of the impact Intel has had in the development of new ideas and advancements of the entire computer industry in general. Such things as online BIOS updates, known as the Intel Express BIOS Update, were first introduced to the industry by them, and others manufacturers like to present it as if it were something new when in reality it has been around for years on the Intel support site.

The Intel D815EPFV is the latest of the 815 family of motherboards to enter the market, and it has some very nice new features to make it appealing to many different types of computer users. The 815 has shown itself to be a stable and dependable chipset, and has become the leader in the Intel chipset line for the desktop marketplace. Every major player in the industry has a motherboard based on this chipset, as it is a reasonably priced product to license and its compatibility is well known throughout the market.
