When it comes to non-legacy motherboards, no one can compare to Abit. They were not only the first to pioneer this new mode of motherboard technology; they are also still the best at it. Breaking away from the rest of the manufacturers and going out into new territory is never an easy thing to do, but Abit has come through it well with their AMD and Intel lines of legacy free boards. Although they got into a bit of trouble with the first of these boards, due to the fact that they did not have PS/2 connectors for the mouse and keyboard. They have since included the PS/2 connectors, and have made those out there not yet willing to go fully USB very happy. Their latest non-legacy AMD board is the AT7-Max2. With the Via KT400 chipset under the hood, and a host of upgraded features, it's a rather large leap up from its little brother, the AT7. Let's take a look at the new features this board sports, and just how well it can perform.
