SATA 2.6

SATA organization is really good at creating nonsense revision names. And they came up with a new one: SATA 2.6. On top of it, you have to pay $25 to download its specs. New features are not bad, though. One of them is a NCQ addition called NCQ unload. It senses that your notebook is going to crash onto the floor and it parks the drive heads. Second one is a NCQ addition also. It gives priority to some files such as music or video files. So your laptop won't skip frames while working multitask. Later they announced the internal Micro SATA connector for 1.8" hard drives and mini SATA external multilane cable/connector standard, which combines four lanes into a single connector for external RAID boxes.
