Technology Breaks

Cynosure of the breaks was Standford University's driverless car. This car has a total of eight LIDAR systems connected to the servers on its trunk that emit beams of light and detect reflections to determine the distance of other objects. On the picture below you will see how the car senses barriers.

Another interesting product was thin screens called "e-paper". Sony started using it on some of their new products. It is only black and white for now, but color screens will follow. If you think a cell phone can not get smaller then think again!

One of the most notable product on the IDF 2007 was the Iphone looking device running on Moorestown platform. When I saw it, I thought it is one of the future IPhone versions. It seemed more useful than Apple's IPhone. It is twice as wide of IPhone, lighter in weight and running on an integrated Intel platform. Of course it was just a prototype, for now that is.
